The fete on the Village Green is one of the classic parts of a British summer. Here in Chudleigh, we don’t have a Village Green; and, in fact, we’re a town, not a village. But we do have the Play Park, and we do have the fete, which will once again mark the official end of the summer festival on Sunday 12th July.
The official opening by the Carnival Queen is at noon; but there will be lots going on from 11am onwards, including pony rides; demonstrations of dance, movement and martial arts; children’s races; and lots of stalls. There will be our usual dog show running throughout the day, plus the ever-popular ferret racing; and for the first time, Punch and Judy shows.
Entrance to the fete is free; you can buy a lucky number programme for 50p from the Box Office next week or on-site on the day. Full details can be found by clicking here.
