This year is the two hundredth anniversary of the Battle of Waterloo and there are a couple of events coming up during Chudfest to commemorate that fact.
On Thursday 9th July, there will be a re-creation of the Ball held by the Duchess of Richmond on 15th June 1815, the eve of the battle, with Regency costumes and dances, a caller and live music. You can find full details by clicking here.
Then on Sunday 12th and Monday 13th, you have opportunities to see a re-enactment of the battle itself. There are two performances, but as far as we know, the result will be the same on both occasions! You can find full details by clicking here.
Unlike other Chudfest events, the Waterloo commemorations are taking place in the Town Hall. Tickets for each event are strictly limited, so don’t leave it too late to book your place.
