Chudfest summer festival 2015 has ended and this year we have once again put on a full programme of events for adults together with several free events for the children and young people of the town. We are also delighted that a number of organisations have used the festival as a framework for charitable fundraising activities.
Following the tombola at the fete, we have a number of prizes donated by local tourist attractions which did not get won. We have decided to auction these off now, so that purchasers can enjoy them during the holidays. Continue reading →
I’m sitting in the marquee, watching the children of Chudleigh Primary School getting up close to the inhabitants of The Dartmoor Birds of Prey Centre. This is pretty much the first time I’ve sat down since Chudfest started last Friday; so I thought it was a good time for a mid-term report. Here are the highlights of the first four days:
For the last couple of weeks, we’ve been hunched over the laptop, writing blog posts, preparing lists, sending out press releases, sorting out tent rotas etc. From today, the focus moves from home to the Play park.
One of my jobs this morning is to start working on the lists of people to whom thanks are due: the companies and individuals who have donated prizes; bought adverts in the brochure; loaned or given us resources; and generally supported the preparations for this year’s festival. These lists will appear at appropriate events and here on the website after 13th July.
