One of my jobs this morning is to start working on the lists of people to whom thanks are due: the companies and individuals who have donated prizes; bought adverts in the brochure; loaned or given us resources; and generally supported the preparations for this year’s festival. These lists will appear at appropriate events and here on the website after 13th July.
But there’s one group of talented people I’d like to mention straight away: the members of the Chudfest committee and event organisers. They take a huge, empty tent in the middle of the Play park and convert it into a buzzing hub of music, words, laughter and fun to suit all ages, tastes and pockets. Good luck guys; let’s make Chudfest 2015 the best yet.
And talking of talented people (yes, I’m making dodgy links again!), don’t forget we’ve brought back Chudleigh’s Got Talent this year. The main contest is on the evening of Friday 10th July; doors open at 7 pm and the performances kick off at 7.30 pm. Tickets are on sale at the Box Office and they can also be bought at the door, but this is always a crowded event, so if you want a good seat, get there is plenty of time. And remember, this is a ‘bring your own supper’ evening, so feel free to bring your own food. However, the bar will be open as usual and, as a licensed premises, only drinks bought at the bar can be consumed in the marquee.
Earlier in the day, there is a chance for the kids to show off their talents. There are still a few places left on both programmes, but the closing date for applications is next Monday, 6th July. You can download the form here or pick one up from the Box Office.
