We all like a giggle or two… This year we are once again hosting our own laughter and comedy evening in the marquee, but this year it’s comedy of an alternative nature. We are excited to introduce three very funny and original comedians to the stage under the watchful eye (but not where diets are concerned, she tells me) of Jackie Juno, writer painter, singer, comedienne, celebrant and Grand Bard of Exeter.
This is a ticket event, £8 for a 7pm start, click here for full details.
The brochures have been printed; we’ve collected them; stuffed the flyers in them (thanks, team); and Tom has loaded them into his car. In fact, the first few are being delivered as I type. (If you hear something coming through your letterbox as you read this, it could well be your copy.)
And if you prefer your information electronically, you can find a link to the full brochure on the Summer Festival page.
It may be a sign of age, but this year is just flying by. It barely seems like yesterday since we were standing in the rain watching the lights go on during the Christmas Fayre, yet here we are, just seven weeks from the arrival of the marquee.
Leah Sambrooks won the competition to design the brochure cover and her illustration is currently being printed. The brochure will be with you before the end of this month.
The programme is now finalised and the web pages will be up very soon.. Over the next few weeks, we will introduce each of the events: what’s happening, where, when and where to get your tickets.
We’ve got some exciting new events this year plus lots of old favourites. we’re very excited about Chudfest 2016 Summer Festival and we hope you are, too.
The competition to design the cover for this year’s Chudfest brochure is now closed. Many thanks to everyone who entered; we will be announcing the winner very shortly. The brochure is currently being prepared and will be with you towards the end of next month.
And in the meantime, the Save the Date leaflet is being delivered to all the houses in town over the next few days. This is your chance to see what’s on the programme and get the key dates in your diaries. We’ve got some exciting new events coming up, plus a whole load of old favourites (and I don’t just mean the Committee Members!).
It may not seem like it, especially when we’re being battered by wind and rain, but summer’s just around the corner. You are going to hear a lot more from us over the next three months. Here’s to another great Summer Festival.
One of my jobs this morning is to start working on the lists of people to whom thanks are due: the companies and individuals who have donated prizes; bought adverts in the brochure; loaned or given us resources; and generally supported the preparations for this year’s festival. These lists will appear at appropriate events and here on the website after 13th July.
