Christmas Lights and Fayre 2018

This year the Christmas Lights and Fayre will be on the evening of Thursday 6th December.

Preparations are in full swing but we can promise you that Santa and his Elves will be in his grotto at the Youth Centre, the Christmas Fayre will be spread over the Town Hall, Woodway Room and Youth Centre, with an array of stalls selling various treats, gifts and craft for you to purchase from.

We will have music and singing inside the Church this year before the Procession and Lantern Parade, so we can support our entertainers in warmth and comfort, and most important, hear them!

There will be entertainment in the Library from the Shanty Men and the Tena Ladies with mince pies and mulled wine no doubt, plus street musicians, and this year we will also be welcoming the Carnival Float decorated for the Festive season, with the Carnival Royalty aboard to give you all a wave.

New for 2018. we are running a Christmas Art Competition for  children up to 12 yrs old. The theme is A CHUDLEIGH CHRISTMAS and will be open to three age groups.

You can enter an A4 sized picture in any medium for the chance of winning a prize, having your picture published in the Chudfest Christmas Brochure which gets delivered to over 2,000 households plus some fabulous art supply prizes. This competition is being sponsored by Bracken Gallery and they have kindly agreed to frame the three winners as well! Look out for the posters and notices in town plus the website and Facebook page for full details on how to enter. Start designing now!

The Town shops will be late night opening and offering tasting morsels and Christmas deals and the outside food stalls will be stirring up delectables for us throughout the night.

We have bell ringers, dancing and music in the street, and it’s a lovely time meet up with friends and family and see what our great town has to offer.

Of course, it’s all about supporting our lovely town decorations for the month, and we thank everyone that has attended the Chudfest Summer Spectacular that means we can keep our town lit for this Christmas.

We hope to see lots of you on the night of the Fayre.

Brochure delivery will be made throughout the town with full details once finalised.

Ho! Ho! Ho!
